Managing Artistic Director
As the chief executive of Tacoma Little Theatre, I led a revitalization effort that required fundamental changes to every process and system within the organization. I led a facilities improvement effort that transformed the venue into a more professional, creative, and safe environment for patrons and artists. At the same time, I was able to reduce the overall debt of the organization, while simultaneously, expanding and streamlining operations.
Lakewood Playhouse, Lakewood, WA 2002-2009
Associate Managing Artistic Director
During my time with Lakewood Playhouse, the theatre grew from a 55K budget to a 455k budget. I was an integral part of the theatre’s artistic and management team -- involved in most aspects of running the theatre – PR, marketing, fund development, strategic planning, board development, sales, box office, customer service, organizational budgeting, finance, fostering relationships, grant writing, and other duties.
Josephine Sunset Home, Stanwood, WA 1995-2002
Communications Director
As Communications Director, I was a senior executive, with responsibilities including strategic planning, board development, marketing and public relations, grant writing, and serving as the chief mission advocate – both internal and external. During my tenure, I led an ownership restructuring process with over 40 Lutheran churches. I helped launch a national community outreach program called “Care Team Ministry,” and created several award-winning videos.
Media Associates, Tacoma, WA 1991-1995
Owner
Media Associates provided television and print media services to health care clients across Washington state. Media Associates projects focused on strategic planning communications, marketing, and patient education. I was responsible for all creative and business aspects of the company, which employed dozens of contract employees and had annual billings of over $100,000.
